AI Compass

Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · Updated 30 September 2026 · Under legal review

1. About these Terms

AI Compass (the Platform) is an internal intelligence platform operated by the Dubai Centre for AI, part of Dubai Future Foundation (DCAI or DFF). These Terms set out the conditions for using the Platform. By signing in, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Who may use the Platform

The Platform is not open to the public. Accounts are issued only to nominated officers of participating Dubai government entities, to authorised DCAI staff, and to DFF staff who hold Viewer accounts.

Your account is personal to you. Do not share it or let anyone else use it.

If your account uses a password, keep it secure and tell us immediately if you think someone else has used your account.

Tell DCAI promptly if you leave your post or no longer need access.

DCAI may suspend or deactivate any account at any time, including if these Terms are breached or your entity leaves the programme.

You use the Platform on behalf of your entity. By signing in, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the information provided in connection with your account is accurate and not misleading.

3. What the Platform is for

The Platform brings together published evidence about artificial intelligence from other governments, companies and research institutions, together with Dubai policy documents, to help Dubai entities plan their use of AI. It is provided for your internal, official use in that role only.

Everything on the Platform is reference material for information only. It is not advice, and it does not represent the official position of DCAI, Dubai Future Foundation or any Dubai authority.

4. AI-generated content

Artificial intelligence is used in four places on the Platform: the assistant that answers questions about the Platform, the question-and-answer panel beside reports and policy documents, the short news brief, and the Dubai relevance assessment shown against each government use case.

AI-generated content can be incomplete, inaccurate or out of date, and may misread or misstate its source. You must check it against the source before relying on it. In particular:

Dubai relevance assessment. This is a prompt for consideration by your entity. It is not a recommendation, an approval, or a statement that a deployment is suitable for Dubai. It was generated when the record was prepared and is not refreshed when you view it.

Answers about reports and policy documents. Answers cite the pages they rely on. Check each cited page before relying on an answer.

News brief. The brief is generated from headlines and summaries only. Read the underlying article before relying on it.

Do not present AI-generated content from the Platform as the view of DCAI, Dubai Future Foundation or any Dubai authority.

5. Not a substitute for official review

The AI and Security Policy module makes Dubai policy documents available at the point where design decisions are taken. The Platform does not assess or certify compliance with any policy or requirement, and reading or asking questions of a document on the Platform is not a substitute for the review carried out by the relevant authority. If a document on the Platform differs from the version issued by the relevant authority, the version issued by that authority prevails.

Decisions about any AI use case, procurement or deployment remain the responsibility of you and the entity you represent.

6. Third-party content

Most content on the Platform (use case records, consulting and institutional reports, news items and images) was published by third parties, who own it. Its inclusion does not mean that DCAI or Dubai Future Foundation endorses it or has verified it. Verdicts shown on use case records (worked, mixed, failed or no verdict) are taken from the published source, not formed by DCAI. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; DCAI is not responsible for their content.

We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy, reliability or appropriateness of any third-party content, and your reliance on it is at your own risk.

If you wish to object to any content on the Platform, contact us using the details in Clause 12, identifying the content, the basis for your objection and the action you would like us to take. We will investigate objections and, where appropriate, remove or correct the content.

You may use third-party content only subject to their terms and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not copy, download in bulk, republish, redistribute or commercially use it, except as its owner permits.

7. Acceptable use

When using the Platform you must not:

  • type personal data, or confidential or classified information, into any question box (anything you type is sent to an AI service to produce the answer);
  • try to access parts of the Platform, or data, that your role does not permit;
  • use automated tools to scrape, copy or extract content from the Platform;
  • remove or obscure any copyright or proprietary notice on the Platform or its content;
  • disassemble, decompile or reverse-engineer any part of the Platform;
  • try to interfere with, test or bypass the Platform's security;
  • use the Platform for any purpose other than your official role;
  • use the Platform, or any content accessed through it, for any unlawful purpose or in breach of applicable law; or
  • use the Platform or its content in a way that infringes the intellectual property rights or other rights of any person.

8. Ownership of the Platform

DFF owns or is the licensee of all intellectual property rights in the Platform, including its software, design and the material DCAI prepares for it. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Platform in accordance with these Terms. All other rights are reserved. Third-party content remains owned by its owners.

9. Availability and changes

DCAI may change, add or remove modules or content, or suspend the Platform, at any time. We do not guarantee that the Platform will always be available or error-free. The Platform and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that content will be up to date and we are under no obligation to update it.

10. Responsibility

Your use of the Platform and its content is at your own risk. To the extent permitted by applicable law, DFF and DCAI are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct or indirect, arising from your access to or use of the Platform, from any content on it (including third-party and AI-generated content), or from any decision taken in reliance on it.

If your use of the Platform in breach of these Terms gives rise to a claim against DFF by a third party, you will be responsible for the loss they suffer as a result of that breach, and you will cooperate with DFF in responding to the claim.

11. Privacy

The Platform holds very little personal data about you. See the AI Compass Privacy Policy for details.

12. Changes to these Terms and contact

We may update these Terms. The “last updated” date will show when they were last changed, and we will ask you to accept the updated Terms when you next sign in if we make a material change. By continuing to use the Platform after a change to these Terms, you accept the changed Terms.

Questions, concerns about content, or reports of misuse: contact the Dubai Centre for AI at info@dub.ai.

13. Governing law

These Terms and your use of the Platform are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and, where applicable, the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws. You irrevocably submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Emirate of Dubai in relation to all disputes arising out of or in connection with the Platform and these Terms.

14. General

If any provision of these Terms is, or is found to be, unenforceable under any applicable law, that will not affect the enforceability of the other provisions of these Terms. These Terms do not create any rights for anyone other than you and DFF. Any words following “including”, “for example” or similar phrases are illustrative only and do not limit the general words.
